Weekend Getaway

This past weekend we were lucky enough to getaway to Las Gaviotas in Baja, Mexico with a group of friends to celebrate a couple of February birthdays. Living in San Diego, Mexico is fairly easy to access via car as long as you have insurance on your vehicle and an updated passport. We rented a house for the 10 of us in a nice, gated community which included access to a pool, hot tub and private beach equipped with volleyball nets and palapas for relaxing.

The first night we had a delicious lobster dinner in Puerto Nuevo, a nearby fishing village and then had some karaoke fun at K42 Bar and Grill. I'll spare you the video evidence of our renditions of Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC and just say that we would not have been offered a record deal had a executive producer been in the bar (HA!).

We spent the rest of the weekend enjoying icy pitchers of margaritas, getting our beach volleyball game on and basking in outstanding sunrises and sunsets. It's always nice to have a  mini vacation to break up the everyday grind and now I'm ready to plan our next trip!
